Class Descriptions:

Community Class
All levels of students are welcome, even those who have never done yoga before.  Fundamental yoga postures, breathing techniques and sequences are taught in this class. A variety of options and modifications are demonstrated so that students can practice to their own level of ability.

Restorative Yoga for Stress Relief
Similar to the relaxation period at the end of yoga class, only with additional postures.  The idea of restorative yoga is to let your body relax as much as possible, so we use props to support our bodies in the postures, rather than using the strength of our muscles.  The postures are held for extended periods of time, allowing the stress to fade away from your body.  This class is great for those who need more relaxation in their lives, are interested in yoga but have low energy, or are recovering from an injury or illness.  (This class is not currently running due to low attendance.  If you have interest, please let me know.  Classes will start again when sufficient interest exists.)

Prenatal Yoga
The prenatal yoga classes are designed specifically to meet the changes that women undergo during pregnancy – physically and emotionally. The classes provide an opportunity to develop greater awareness of your body, that is now home for two. Gentle postures, breath work, visualization, vocal toning and meditation are learned to cultivate flexibility, strength, calm, and confidence in preparation for labor and childbirth.  These classes are gentle enough for those who are new to yoga and also suitable for experienced practitioners.
