In my classes people excitedly come together each week to practice yoga. But, over time, more than practicing yoga happens…community is created. Anyone who has walked into the room knows this immediately, as the room is never quiet before class starts. Students talk, get to know each other, and form friendships. This community connection is one of the reasons that I love yoga and love sharing yoga with all of you.

The yoga community is one that is full of support. My students make me feel wonderfully supported, and in turn, I want to support my community. This is why I’m starting yearly Metta Projects. “Metta” is a word meaning loving kindness, goodwill, and active interest in others. Essentially, metta is a strong wish for the welfare and happiness of others. Each year, a new project will be chosen, all with the intention of making yoga more accessible in our community.
